Let’s start here at the Hotel Perla from the past to the present.
Our boutique hotel is located directly on Levante Beach, a long stretch of sand in an ancient fishing village, Castiglione della Pescaia.
Inside and outside of the city walls lies a fascinating history.
It all started in 1966.
The Magrini Family from Castiglione della Pescaia, decided to start their business adventure with the Bagno Medusa, a private beach establishment. Year after year, the Bagno Medusa became more and more beautiful, big, and frequented by affectionate customers from all over the Tuscany region and beyond.
The years passed as Massimiliano grew up in this corner of paradise on the long stretches of beach that spans from Castiglione della Pescaia to the slopes of the rolling hills of the Parco dell’Uccellina. He since embarked upon a new entrepreneurial adventure with his sons Jacopo and Filippo.
And this is where his future begins! Massimiliano would pass by every day on his way to the Bagno Medusa in Via Arenile and could never take his eyes off of that small and charming abandoned Hotel La Perla. In 2019, he decided to bring the Hotel Perla back to life.
The Hotel Perla lies in a fantastic position. From the rooms on the first floor, you can see the sea, the island of Montecristo, and the castle of Castiglione della Pescaia.
It sits in a priveleged position in town, practically on the sea! Our guests greatly appreciate its proximity to the sea.
The restoration of the hotel was complete in June of 2020 and, despite Covid19, the Hotel Perla opened its doors to its first guests. Throughout the season, the Hotel Perla and its staff worked diligently and received positive feedback from Italian and European travelers.
The Hotel Perla is located on the southern coast of Castiglione della Pescaia, a seaside village nestled between Punta Ala and the Argentario, a touristic haven thanks to its beautiful beaches, charming village with the ancient Aragon castle and its scenic, natural beauty.
The hotel is an excellent starting point for visiting the wonderful area of Maremma. It is a perfect place to enjoy tranquility, the sea, and exceptional food. As a couple or with the whole family, the crystal clear water, fine sand, and breathtaking sunsets will make anyone fall in love.
